Basic education for dog owners

At the Basic education, we cover the most important topics for maintaining your pet's coat between grooming appointments:
• proper brushing and detangling
• choosing appropriate brushes and combs
• bathing and selecting cosmetics
• proper coat drying
• basics of paw and nail care
• ear inspection and basic care
• prevention of tangles and matting
• recommended grooming routine for your dog
• review of equipment you use at home

The goal is for you to gain confidence in daily care and prevent common problems before your next grooming appointment.

How long does the training last?
The training lasts approximately 3 hours, but the duration may vary depending on the breed, coat condition, and working pace. Our goal is not to rush through the content, but to ensure that you understand everything and try it out for yourself.

Does the dog come with me?
Yes, the dog comes with you.
We believe that the best way to learn is with your own dog, as you will later apply the same techniques at home. During the training, we work with your dog and tailor advice to their coat type, character, and needs.

Do I need prior experience?
No.
Basic training is designed for owners without prior experience. We go through everything step-by-step, from the basics to a proper home grooming routine.

What is covered in the Basic training?

What is covered in the Advanced training?
Advanced training is intended for owners who already groom their dog independently at home and wish to further refine their technique.
During the training:
• you independently bathe and dry your dog
• we go through the entire grooming process with my guidance
• I correct your technique and any mistakes
• we learn more advanced brushing and dematting methods
• we cover the basics of recognizing skin and coat problems
• we discuss protection against external and internal parasites
• we adapt the grooming routine to your lifestyle
• I answer all questions that have arisen during the previous months of working at home
The goal is for you to become more confident and independent in maintaining your dog between salon visits.

How long after the Basic training can I take the Advanced training?
There is no strict rule.
However, we recommend that at least 2 to 3 months pass between the Basic and Advanced training so that you have the opportunity to apply what you've learned at home, bathe your dog a few times, and gain practical experience. This way, we will have a concrete basis for further work in the Advanced training.

Do I need to bring my own equipment?
Yes, we recommend bringing the brushes, combs, and other equipment you use at home.
This way, we can assess if it is suitable for your dog and show you how to use it correctly.

Do I need to bring my own hairdryer?
Not necessary.
All necessary professional space and equipment are provided during the training. If you wish, you can bring your own hairdryer so we can check if it's suitable for home use and show you how to best use it.

Do I need to bring towels?
No.
Towels and everything needed for work during the training are provided by Coccole.

Will I receive product recommendations for my dog?
Yes.
During the training, you will receive recommendations for tools, cosmetics, and a grooming routine tailored specifically to your dog, their coat type, and lifestyle.

Can I ask questions during the training?
Of course.
The trainings are individual and tailored to you, so we always leave enough time for questions and further explanations.

Is the training suitable for all breeds?
Yes.
We adapt the content to the breed, coat type, and individual needs of each dog.
